With over 25 years of experience in professional services industries, Shareem serves as Greater Washington DC’s DEI&B Manager and drives organizational success by leading the development and mobilization of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging strategy, initiatives, programs, and partnerships to advance employee engagement and inclusion.
She manages DEI&B initiatives designed to support key business objectives, long-term goals, and projects; educates staff on new initiates, messages, goals, and projects determined by senior leadership; identifies and designs DEI&B enrichment activities to drive employee engagement; develops presentations to advance awareness of key DEI&B initiatives and demonstrate impact to business; and works cross-functionally to establish productive partnerships with key stakeholders across the firm to drive BDO’s DEI&B business objectives.
Additionally, Shareem serves as BDO’s Multicultural Alliance National Coordinator, supporting corporate professionals who are racially and ethnically diverse to reach their full potential through networking, mentoring, and professional development. Within this role, Shareem fosters relationships with members of the National Association of Black Accountants, Association of Latino Professionals for America, and Ascend and represents the Firm in national, regional, and local recruiting events.
Outside of her roles at BDO, Shareem is part of various community organizations, including a position on the Board of Directors of Arts on the Block.
